A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US...

Welcome, Bienvenue! Thank you for visiting the website and we would truly love to welcome you in the near future!

Originally from England: Jon-Allan Butterworth MBE and I, along with our family dog Roland, decided one evening we needed to escape the rat race and the rain and embarked on a journey of finding a perfect home for us to spend more time together and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life in the sunshine!

I worked for an interior design & build company; Jon-Allan was and still is a Paralympic Cyclist for Team GB. He was injured in Iraq in 2007 after a rocket attack, which hit his RAF base and left him needing his left arm amputating from the blast. Shortly after; he found himself trialling for the cycling team and has since won 3 Silvers at London 2012, a GOLD at RIO 2016 and is in training for Tokyo 2020. With world records and titles to his name, he isn't ready to hang up the cycling shoes just yet and France offers the perfect environment to train during summer. If you are interested, I'm sure he would happily show you his medals and other paraphernalia from his years racing. He's the most successful military Paralympian of all time and is also the first above elbow amputee to do a skeleton run and two man bobsleigh, following an appearance on The Jump in 2015.

Motorsport is one of our passions and keeps us busy travelling to race events, however we thrive at home relaxing in our own environment whilst also enjoying other people's company. This was when we realised it was time to move and have more time for those that matter most and appreciate the slower pace of living and of course the sunshine and wine of the region! What better way than to open our home to guests from across the world to share it with us.

We do have a dog named Roland... he loves sunbathing in the garden and admittedly is an attention seeker, he is a very friendly large family dog who loves meeting new people.

You will more than likely see us on the evening enjoying a glass of wine and encourage everyone to come and sit with us! We will have drinks available to purchase from the region and further afield to suit most tastes.

You can find further information about Butterworth Manoir on the website so please explore! Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. Hopefully, we shall see you soon to share our knowledge of the best places to visit...

Salut!

Leanne Rogerson, Jon-Allan Butterworth and Roland
